Everson Museum Exhibition Poster

Visualizing an exhibition focused on the challenges of growing up through a colorful, illustrated poster.

Partnering up with the Everson Museum of Art, I designed the poster for their spring exhibition, "Grow Up? We’re Trying.” The exhibition explored the struggles of growing up in the 21st century through themes of struggle and growth. It was a full-circle moment for me after being part of the Everson Museum Teen Arts Council in 2018. The process involved some improvisation too: I roped in family members to help me figure out the characters’ poses.

THE PROCESS
For the poster's style, I wanted to capture the messy reality of growing up in a way that felt playful and vibrant. The result? A piece that not only reflected the exhibition’s youthful energy but also paid homage to that awkward, uncertain journey of growing up.

The multi-media exhibition was live from June 8 – July 2, 2023 (delayed by the pandemic).
